Speech and language therapist/pathologist

Дата публикации: 09-08-2026 14:58:43

Hi my wife and I are potentially planning a move to Toronto I have been offered a job in Toronto but we're struggling to understand the process to get certified as a speech and language pathologist.
My wife has 10+ years experience running her own company working as a speech and language therapist in schools and also does ADOS work. Does anyone know if the a UK undergrad in human communication and language therapy bsc is transferable to practice in Ontario it does she need to have a masters?

Quote:

Important Information Before You Apply: 1. Becoming a registrant of the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) is a legal requirement for anyone who wishes to practise audiology or speech-language pathology in Ontario. 2. Only registrants of the College may use the professional titles (e.g., audiologist, speech-language pathologist, speech therapist), any variations (e.g., Student Audiologist), or abbreviations of the protected titles (e.g., SLP)..

Quote:

Can I be registered in Ontario as an audiologist or speech-language pathologist with a bachelor's degree? No. To be registered in Ontario as an audiologist or speech-language pathologist, you must have completed a professional master's degree in the field. This degree must contain coursework, clinical practicum and a research component.

Undergraduate level university courses may be used towards the coursework requirements. It is understood that the majority of the coursework hours in the major professional area will have been completed at the master's level.
