vivo India has officially launched the vivo S2, marking the return of the vivo S-series to India after nearly 7 years. Positioned in the upper mid-range smartphone segment, the vivo S2 focuses on premium design, imaging, long battery life, and AI-powered software experiences. The smartphone combines a slim curved design with a large 7,050 mAh BlueVolt battery, 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo SoC, 6.83-inch 1.5K 120 Hz 3D Curved AMOLED display, and a 50 MP Sony IMX852 OIS camera, while also bringing flagship-inspired durability through IP68 + IP69 certification and MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability.

The vivo S2 features a premium curved design with a Skyline Camera Module, Aura Light Portrait system, and sleek matte finish back available in Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze, and Silk White color options. Despite housing a massive battery, the smartphone measures just 7.99 mm thick (8.10 mm for Silk White) and weighs 197 grams (199 grams for Silk White).
The smartphone sports a 6.83-inch (17.35 cm) 3D Curved AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution (2,800 x 1,260 pixels), 120 Hz refresh rate, 449 PPI pixel density, and a 93.82% screen-to-body ratio. The display is certified by SGS for Low Blue Light, Low Flicker, and Five-Star Sunlight Readability, offering improved visibility while reducing eye strain during prolonged usage.
Powering the smartphone is the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7360-Turbo octa-core SoC, paired with 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM, up to 8 GB Extended RAM, and up to 256 GB storage. vivo claims an AnTuTu score of around 970,000, while a 3,800 mm² vapor chamber cooling system with a total cooling area exceeding 23,000 mm² helps maintain stable performance during gaming and demanding workloads. The company has also promised 3 Android OS upgrades and 5 years of security updates.
For photography, the vivo S2 features a 50 MP Sony IMX852 primary camera with OIS, paired with a 2 MP bokeh camera, while the front houses a 32 MP selfie camera. Both front and rear cameras support 4K video recording. Camera features include Aura Light Portrait, AI Erase 2.0, Dual View Video, Live Photo, Supermoon, Ultra HD Document Mode, and several AI-powered enhancements.
The smartphone packs a 7,050 mAh BlueVolt battery with 44W FlashCharge support, reverse wired charging, Bypass Charging, and Battery Life Extender. According to vivo, the battery is designed to retain at least 80% capacity after 1,600 charging cycles, translating to approximately 6 years of battery health under typical usage.
The vivo S2 runs OriginOS 6 based on Android 16, bringing several AI-powered features including Google Gemini integration, Circle to Search, AI Creation, AI Transcript Assist, AI Captions, Smart Call Assistant, Origin Island, vivo Office Kit, and Shake and Share.
Commenting on the launch, Geetaj Channana, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, vivo India, said, “The smartphone market has evolved significantly, with young consumers increasingly seeking premium experiences without stepping into flagship price segments.
