SWISSto12, the Swiss manufacturer of satellite and payload systems, has closed its $70 million Series C funding round.
The capital raise follows the award of $84.8 million from the European Space Agency (ESA) to the HummingSat ARTES partnership project. This is how ESA is supporting SWISSto12 in the development and in-orbit validation of the company’s GEO HummingSat.
The company highlighted 10% CAGR since 2022 and a total of more than $500 million in contracted orders. It reached $140 million in revenue in 2025.
SWISSto12 is currently delivering payloads for several LEO constellations and seven HummingSat GEO platforms to global operators, it says. The latter include SES and Viasat.
The latest funding will be used to increase the company’s manufacturing and integration capacity.
“Space is increasingly recognised as essential infrastructure for the global economy,” said Emile de Rijk, CEO and founder. “In this expanding market, our solutions across payload and satellite lines are creating significant new opportunities for customers.”
“Our products are supporting exciting new customer missions—from direct-to-device connectivity to media broadcasting, intersatellite data relays or sovereign communications infrastructure—many of which span multiple orbits. This Series C funding round accelerates our ability to execute on this growing demand across any payload, any platform and any orbit.”
First deliveries of the HummingSat will be 2027, and the platform involves proprietary 3D printing technology. The goal is to provide GEO satellite comms at a fraction of the time, size, and cost of legacy equivalents.
Investors in the company include Constantia New Business (CNB Capital), Swisscom Ventures, Swisscanto and Zürcher Kantonalbank (ZKB).
SWISSto12 has its headquarters in Renens, Switzerland.
