The company ARAKO, LLC (Opava, Czech Republic, a member of the Engineering Division of Rosatom - Atomenergomash) is extending its range of pipeline valves. This is now possible as a result of the investment program implemented by the company in 2011-2013.

Last year, the company's design bureau developed a new product - the A42 valve for use in nuclear power stations. In December 2014, normal operation, envelope density and trim impermeability prototype tests were successfully completed. Currently documentation for series production is being developed and negotiations for the supply of the valve to Russian nuclear power stations are in progress. Both new products and new dimensions of producible fittings are also being developed and manufactured.
Startup of the new production line has been made possible through the acquisition of new equipment in 2011-2013 within the largest investment program in the company’s history, in the amount of 150 million CZK. Sources of funding included both their own and capital raised against guarantees of Atomenergomash JSC. The enterprise has purchased modern machines, such as a lathe, welding machines, equipment for cleaning and degreasing, horizontal machining center, eight new modern furnaces for heat treatment, etc. The worksite surface has also been upgraded and a new stock room has been built. The company introduced a new information system ERP, which replaced the outdated programs and fully optimized the production process.

Together, this has allowed both to expand the range of output products and to improve production efficiency. In particular, in 2014, production processes of cooperation were reduced by 35% in comparison with the year of 2013, and labor productivity was increased during the valve test for nuclear energy under pressure. In addition, in 2014 the company also managed to reduce the use of tools and equipment by 30%.
