CFMOTO has announced a new long-term strategic partnership with Brembo that will see the two companies work together on future braking systems for CFMOTO’s mid-to-large displacement motorcycles.
The agreement, finalised this week in Hangzhou, China, goes beyond a conventional supplier arrangement. CFMOTO says Brembo will be involved earlier in the vehicle development process, with the two companies to collaborate on braking system concept design, performance development, integration, calibration and validation.
That should allow future CFMOTO platforms to have braking systems developed more closely around the intended use of each model, rather than simply adapting componentry late in the process. CFMOTO says the aim is to deliver a better balance of safety, control, performance and rider confidence across future models.
The partnership also opens the door to wider use of race-derived braking technology on CFMOTO’s larger-capacity motorcycles. CFMOTO’s profile in Grand Prix racing has grown strongly in recent seasons through Moto3 and Moto2 competition, while Brembo remains a dominant braking supplier across the MotoGP grid.
CFMOTO and Brembo to expand cooperation beyond production bikesThe two companies will also work together across motorsport activities, brand development and talent cultivation.
As part of that wider cooperation, Brembo will become a strategic partner of the CFMOTO Talent Project, with the two brands aiming to support the next generation of Chinese racing talent.
For CFMOTO, the deal is another step in its push to develop more premium motorcycles with global appeal. The Chinese manufacturer has been steadily expanding its reach across road, adventure and performance segments, while also building its racing presence as part of a broader international brand strategy.
Brembo’s involvement also underscores how seriously CFMOTO takes braking performance as its motorcycles move further into the mid- and larger-capacity space. Brembo’s group now spans a broad range of motorcycle-related brands and technologies, including Brembo, ByBre, J.Juan, AP Racing, SBS Friction, Marchesini and Öhlins.
Chen Zhiyong – Vice President of CFMOTOAndrea Paganessi – Motorcycle GBU Chief Officer, Brembo N.V.“Establishing a long-term strategic partnership with Brembo will further strengthen CFMOTO’s competitiveness and brand presence in global markets.

“Our collaboration with CFMOTO is an important step in strengthening Brembo’s presence in the global motorcycle market and in supporting our mission as a solutions provider.
“Through our technical expertise and high-performance solutions, we aim to be a trusted long-term partner for CFMOTO and to contribute to the evolution of premium motorcycle standards.”
