When Clint Eastwood founded Tehama, his private community in Carmel, California, he personally chose a 10-acre plot on the highest crest in the valley. Known as the Summit, the parcel offers 360-degree views of Carmel Bay, Point Lobos, and the Santa Lucia Mountains. While Eastwood may have fallen in love with the acreage, he eventually decided to build his own residence near the Tehama Golf Club, where he still lives.

In 2021, the Summit was bought directly from Eastwood’s entities, and the current owners spent five years building a sprawling compound. It’s now on the market with Tim Allen at Coldwell Banker Realty for $32 million, making it the most expensive residential listing on the Monterey Peninsula at the moment.

The three-bedroom main house adopts a farmhouse-chic aesthetic, with barnwood siding and reclaimed bridge timbers adding a rustic touch to the steel doors and windows. Among the entertaining spaces, the lilac marble kitchen and adjoining blue pantry are standouts, offering a fun pop of color amid otherwise neutral interiors.

Upstairs, in a private wing, the primary suite unfolds across several spaces. The stairway leads to a chic lounge area that can serve as both a media room and a bar. The bedroom is paired with a Blue Crystallo quartzite bathroom, where the vanity matches the walk-in shower and a gold soaking tub sits next to the floor-to-ceiling windows. A large walk-in closet completes the suite.

Guests, meanwhile, can opt to stay in one of the two bedrooms in a separate upper-floor wing or have a little extra privacy in the detached guesthouse. Here, there’s one bedroom and bathroom, plus a living room and even laundry.

Rounding out the property is a wellness wing with a gym, yoga room, sauna, and steam room. Out on the deck is a cold plunge, and steps away is a purpose-built aquatic fitness pool inspired by elite ocean-athlete training. It includes integrated steps and varying depths meant to assist with low-impact exercise, resistance work, breathwork, and recovery. It can, of course, be used for “normal” swimming, too.
