Fashion designer Betsey Johnson—celebrated for her whimsical, creative style—sold her highly customized pink trailer in Malibu’s exclusive Paradise Cove Mobile Home Park in 2019 for nearly $2 million. Last year, she made a dramatic real estate leap, doling out $6.85 million for an estate in the guard-gated Los Angeles enclave of Hidden Hills. The property not only abuts Kim Kardashian’s sprawling compound but was once owned by the reality TV star.
Now, just a little over a year later, Johnson is already moving on, placing the modern ranch house on the market with a $7.5 million price tag. Jordan Cohen of Re/Max holds the listing.

Originally completed in the 1950s but recently rebuilt and reimagined by Sandefer Homes, the wood-clad structure rests on a hilltop parcel spanning 1.5 acres and offers five bedrooms and four full bathrooms, plus a powder room. The 4,300-square-foot, single-level floor plan is decked out with wide-plank white oak floors, hand-troweled plaster walls, and soaring wood-beam ceilings, all supported by smart-home and solar systems.
Standing out on the main level are massive living and dining areas anchored by a wall of 25-foot Fleetwood pocketing doors that open to a lengthy deck. The central kitchen features an expansive black-veined-marble island topped with a pair of woven rattan pendant lights and a built-in storage pantry.

The primary suite occupies its own wing with a fireplace, French doors opening to a private patio, and a bathroom with an oval soaking tub set in front of a picture window. Outside, the mountain-view grounds are centered around a freeform pool with a spillover spa, accompanied by a sundeck, a pair of fire pits, and a covered outdoor living room. An equestrian facility on a lower portion of the property has a four-stall barn, tack and feed rooms, and a corral, while a spacious motor court and a two-car garage round out the property.
Johnson, 83, has long owned a luxury villa near Zihuatenejo in Mexico, known as “BetseyVilla,” that she uses as both a personal retreat and a high-end vacation rental.
