Italian espresso machine company La Marzocco is expanding further into the digital realm with the launch of Sistema, a subscription-based web platform for monitoring usage, performance and maintenance data across fleets of connected La Marzocco commercial espresso machines.

Sistema is a web app that gathers and displays data from fleets of commercial espresso machines equipped with an internet-of-things (IoT) gateway. Compatible product lines currently include the KB90, Linea PB, Linea Classic S, GB5 and Strada S. Users onboard machines through the La Marzocco app, which remains a separate tool for pairing and controlling individual machines.

Sistema monitors fleet performance rather than directly changing individual machine settings. If its data reveals an inconsistency, users can open the La Marzocco app to adjust supported settings.

“While the La Marzocco app helps you connect with both home and commercial machines, it helps you easily access settings on one machine at a time,” La Marzocco Product Marketing Manager Aric Forbing told Daily Coffee News. “Sistema was introduced to help commercial customers more easily access and analyze data from an entire fleet of espresso machines to monitor equipment health status, machine usage, coffee quality and more.”

Beyond machine-level data, Sistema provides fleet-wide sales and operational insights. Operators can invite technicians into their accounts while limiting access to machine and maintenance data, keeping sales and operations information private.

Sistema joins a growing field of cloud-based commercial coffee equipment platforms, including manufacturer-specific services and machine-agnostic third-party systems. Athens-based BibeCoffee, founded in 2018, raised US$2.2 million in 2023 to expand its machine-agnostic monitoring platform. Simonelli Group launched its TECX telemetry platform in 2022, while Sanremo Coffee Machines introduced Sanremo IoT at HostMilano 2025.

Following an initial rollout in Australia and New Zealand, Sistema is now available for signups worldwide, according to La Marzocco.

Monthly subscriptions cost €20.95 (about US$24) per machine for Standard or €22.95 (about $26) for Professional. Both tiers include all platform features, with Standard providing monthly reports and Professional providing more detailed weekly reports. An Enterprise tier is available for larger fleets. Forbing said La Marzocco plans to continue adding features.

“One of the benefits of Sistema being a digital platform is that we can adapt to the needs of our customers over time,” Forbing said. “As improvements are made and new features are added, it is positioned to add value in new ways and make it easier to manage equipment.”
