But Anne Robinson went from quiz show mistress to chic and out-there fashionista, as the 72-year-old broadcaster stepped out in London, on Wednesday.

Showing that she's not averse to unleashing her inner-style guru, the former Weakest Link star went for a quirky look, teaming a pair of bright red oval spectacles with a jazzy jacket and dress combo.

Anne - who first shot to fame as a journalist before her TV career took off - managed to straddle the line between bold and simple with her wardrobe of choice.

The former newspaper Editor opted for a long charcoal knee-length dress teamed with a pair of block-heeled boots in black.

Adding a sassy and striking aspect to her look, she wrapped a cheetah-print belt around her mid-riff.

Keeping the chill winter weather at bay, Anne ensured there was plenty of contrast in her look, thanks to a thick patterned jacket, which featured chunky, geometric stitched details.

Going all-out in the accessories department, the Merseyside-born star added a touch of colour to her look by donning an oval pair of bright red spectacles.

She also added a chunky necklace, earrings and tan leather handbag to her look.

The presenter wore her sandy locks chopped into a blunt bob, which softened her features and allowed her spectacles to take centre-stage.

Recently the famously acerbic-journalist admitted she felt that women shouldn't care about misogynistic remarks, whilst she also revealed that she doesn't mind getting wolf-whistled.

'I love it when men wolf-whistle at me. I love it,’ Anne told the Daily Mail's Sebastian Shakespeare at the opening party for the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition, in November.

‘The way I look at it is that they’re all customers. Women need to stop being so offended by that sort of thing . . .
