ARC Driver is back with a new video and this time he’s taking a look at the values of the C8 Corvette ZR1. There is some hyperbole and a couple of points we don’t agree with, but I think the rest is pretty solid as the ZR1 market is maturing fast with 1,178 units already produced for the 2026 model year.

Throwing in my 2-cents here, the C8 Corvette ZR1 is an exceptional sports car with tons of awards and accolades under its belt, but I believe we’ve already reached the inflection point where most buyers should absolutely be shunning any car offered with additional dealer markups (ADMs). As he discusses in this video, the current ZR1 market has multiple forces working against it.

The biggest data point and the most important for the purpose of this discussion is reviewing actual sales and that’s where the Bring a Trailer auction website comes in handy. Since the first 2025 Corvette ZR1 hit the website in September 2025 there have been 15 ZR1s offered with eight selling which is only a 53.3% success rate. As you can see below, the arc has been steadily decreasing from the high sale of $301,000 to the most recent ZR1 which sold for $223,000.

Another good point made he makes is how C7 ZR1s values aren’t translating to the C8 ZR1. Even thought the C7 ZR1 still has a two-to-1 edge in the number of vehicles out there, it’s values are being driven largely due to it being the last front engine models as well as the last Corvette to have a manual transmission. That makes it more of a true investment for collectors 2hile the C8 ZR1 is more of a driver’s car at this point than an investment.

As for when the best time to buy the C8 Corvette, ARC Driver is advising to wait out the drop to MSRP which could come as soon as late summer or early fall. GM will be cranking them out all spring and summer long, and we’ll also be reaching the point where sellers can sell their vehicles without penalty from the 1-year retention policy.

While this is good advice, I’ll offer this contrarian view because the ZR1 is a really special car. If you come across an example you absolutely love and quickly depreciating values aren’t going to wreck your finances, go for it! Life is too short to drive boring cars!
