Google has expanded personalized image generation in the Gemini app to more users in the United States. Powered by Personal Intelligence, the feature combines information from connected Google services with Google’s Nano Banana image generation model, allowing Gemini to create AI-generated images that better reflect a user’s preferences, interests, and personal context.

According to Google, the feature is designed to reduce the amount of information users need to include in prompts by leveraging data from connected Google apps, while remaining entirely opt-in.

Personal Intelligence enables Gemini to access information from supported Google services – with the user’s permission – to generate more personalized responses and images.

Gemini can utilize information from:

• Gmail
• Google Photos
• YouTube
• Google Search

By understanding a user’s interests and preferences across these services, Gemini can generate images tailored to individual lifestyles and tastes.

For example, users can enter prompts such as:

• “Design my dream house”
• “Create an illustration of me and my favorite things”

Google says Gemini automatically uses available context from connected Google services to create more relevant results without requiring lengthy prompt descriptions.

One of the biggest additions is integration with Google Photos. Gemini can now access photos stored in a user’s Google Photos library, eliminating the need to manually upload images when generating personalized artwork.

This allows the AI to create images featuring the user or based on their existing photo collection while simplifying the overall image creation process.

Google says connecting Google services to Gemini remains completely optional. Users must explicitly grant permission before Gemini can access information from supported Google apps.

Permissions can be reviewed, modified, or revoked at any time through the Gemini app’s settings.

Starting 29th June 2026, personalized image generation in Gemini is rolling out free of charge to all eligible users in the United States. Google has not yet announced when the feature will expand to additional regions.
