People were asked to avoid the area surrounding a north suburban hospital amid police activity involving drones that also prompted nearby residents to be evacuated on Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
Just after 5:30 p.m., City of Evanston said there was an “increased police presence at Endeavor Health at 2650 Ridge Ave. The area has been evacuated and drones are being used to assist.”
They asked people to avoid the area and follow directions from law enforcement, but also said there was “no immediate threat” to the public.
Someone who works at Endeavor in Evanston told NBC Chicago she was allowed to leave but security was not allowing people into the building.
