VLADIVOSTOK, August 13. /TASS/. Russia and Malaysia are working on the establishment of a joint venture in the area of nanotechnology in Malaysia, Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov said.

"We welcome the establishment of contacts between Rusnano and NanoMalaysia in the field of nanotechnology. They are exploring the possibility of setting up a joint venture in Malaysia," he said at the meeting of the joint Russian-Malaysian commission.

The project aims to commercialize nanotechnology-related intellectual property, Falkov noted.

"We expect to sign a relevant agreement on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum this September," he added.

The fifth meeting of the joint Russian-Malaysian commission on economic, scientific-technical, and cultural cooperation co-chaired by Valery Falkov and Zambry Abdul Kadir, Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia, is taking place on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University on August 13.

Particular attention is being paid to trade and investment cooperation, agriculture, energy, tourism, and cultural exchanges, as well as the development of ties in areas of science and education.
