VLADIVOSTOK, August 13. /TASS/. Russia and Malaysia have reaffirmed their mutual interest in cooperation in the energy sector, specifically regarding the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), Zambry Abdul Kadir, Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia, said at the fifth meeting of the joint Russian-Malaysian commission.

"Regarding the energy transition and cooperation in nuclear technology, both sides acknowledged significant opportunities for collaboration on renewable energy and the supply of LNG and LPG by companies such as Novatek, Gazprom, and RusKhimAlyans. We reaffirmed our shared interest in finalizing the memorandum of understanding with the Malaysian Nuclear Agency on the peaceful use of nuclear energy and power generation," he said.

In the areas of high technology, digitalization, and telecommunications, both sides welcomed cooperation in artificial intelligence, smart city development, information security, high-speed telecommunication systems, and more, the official added.
