TLC’s newest show, Double Lives of Suburban Wives, didn’t appear to strike the right chord with viewers during its Sunday night premiere.

The series follows six women — Tammy, Macy, Emily, Brianna, Megan and Heather — based in the St. Louis, Missouri, area who have built secret careers as adult content creators on platforms like OnlyFans. Two of the women are former teachers who made headlines in 2023 when they were placed on leave following the discovery of their OnlyFans pages.

Viewers who tuned into the premiere episode weren’t impressed, with one writing on X that it was like “a reality version of Desperate Housewives.”

“And yet somehow this overhyped slop is the most boring @TLC show that I’ve seen in a while. Now that’s a trick,” one viewer wrote on X as someone responded, “Yes very boring, I was waiting for something, very sluggish and it’s 2026, not 1950 so nothing new…. NEXT.”

A third agreed: “@TLC I know the ‘T’ is now for Trash TV, but this is bottom feeder level. Plus, it’s dull and boring. Click. Channel changed.”

“The first episode didn't really having me wanting more,” another added while someone else wrote, “Please don’t watch this show. It’s pathetic. It’s a new low for reality TV and I love trash. These women only wanna get famous and beef up their only fans accounts.”

Double Lives of Suburban Wives also features the husbands and children of the women, which drew ire from several viewers.

“This mess might be too scripted 4me. Why do this to your kids on national tv? They’ll probably get picked on in school if they don’t know already. Pretty f’ing selfish w kids in the mix. Kids are cruel enough to 1 another, why give them ammo to use?” one person wrote on X.

“Um...my kids wouldn't be on this show,” another agreed while a third wrote, “Oh these kids are about to be bullied at school. This is terrible.”

Ahead of the show’s premiere, cast members Tammy and Heather spoke to Swooon and encouraged viewers to “keep an open mind.”

Tammy continued: “I already have people that are commenting, ‘This just seems like this other show,’ and, ‘They’re trying to do this.’ I am telling you, obviously, I lived it with these six couples, but it’s going to be a wild ride. I think it’s going to blow people’s minds what they think they know and what they actually [find out].”

Double Lives of Suburban Wives airs Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
