A beloved reality show is returning to screens for the first time in eight years.

Ice Road Truckers, created by Thom Beers, aired on the History Channel between 2007 and 2017.

Over the decade that it was available to watch on the telly, fans enjoyed 138 episodes across 11 seasons. 

Now the show is making an epic return for a 12th, eight years after the last wrapped up. 

'The treacherous job of driving trucks over frozen lakes, also known as ice roads, in Canada's Northwest Territories and Alaska's improved but still remote Dalton Highway, which is mainly snow-covered solid ground,' IMDb's synopsis reads. 

Viewers will be delighted to know that the likes of Todd Dewey and Lisa Kelly will be back on our screens, alongside 'a group of rookies', according to Deadline. 

The upcoming series will follow the gang deliver supplies to isolated communities in Northern Canada. 

And we don't have long to wait as it will be back on our screens on October 1.

History has shared the official trailer on their YouTube channel with the caption: 'The HISTORY Channel’s hit original series “Ice Road Truckers” is back for an epic season twelve return on Wednesday, October 1 at 9:30pm ET/PT. 

'After a long hiatus, the fearless truckers return like never before to the treacherous terrain of icy roads and frozen lakes in Northern Canada delivering crucial supplies and necessities to isolated communities. 

'With a winter window shorter than ever and no time to waste, these drivers risk everything to haul in a lifeline of goods while chasing big paydays before the opportunity melts away under their chained tires.'

The show is narrated by Thom Beers and Tom Cotcher. 

Todd Dewey joined the show for season seven back in 2013.

He has been a past of the team since then.  

Meanwhile Lisa Kelly has been on the programme since 2009. 

She joined the cast for season three and went on to have a break, later rejoining for season seven.
