Tyson Fury is not convinced a fight with Anthony Joshua will materialise despite upholding his end of the bargain after forcing Mariusz Wach to quit on his stool.

The former world champion ended a year-long hiatus back in April when he outpointed Russian powerhouse Arslanbek Makhmudov in front of over 60,000 fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Watching ringside was long-time rival Joshua - who refused to enter the ring and face off with Fury.

Both men signed to fight each other just days later, but were first tasked with getting through respective tune-up fights. Joshua takes on Kristian Prenga in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night, while Fury returned on Friday evening against Wach. And despite eating a clubbing right hand in the second, the 'Gypsy King' controlled the contest before the Polish veteran eventually quit at the end of the seventh.

And Fury was eager to tear into rival Joshua just moments after getting his hand raised. “I got through my test tonight. Let’s see if he gets through his test. The biggest test of it all is how big his balls are. I think he’s a big s***house. In Tottenham in front of 70,000 people, he never had the guts to get in the ring and face me. Let’s see if he ever does. I’m not convinced," he said.

There had been talk of Fury jetting straight from Thailand to Jeddah for tomorrow night's contest, but that will not be the case. The 37-year-old is due to fly back home to the Isle of Man, having been away from wife Paris and his children for over two months.

“Will I balls. I’ll go and face off with my wife," he explained. “I’ve been away the last six or seven months. I’m definitely not going to Jeddah. I’m going home to my wife and kids who have been supporting me from a distance. I’ve been away in training camp for 10 weeks. I was away before that for four months, so I’m going to go home and have a rest."

Ahead of tonight's bout in Thailand, there had been talks that Fury and Joshua could clash in New York as talks continue over a venue for the British mega-fight. Both men signed to fight each other - with the bout pencilled in for Wembley in November. But Saudi boxing chief Turki Al-Sheikh is insisting on a 4am start time in the UK in order to capture the American TV market.

After his win over Wach, Fury was asked where he would like the Joshua fight to land. And it seems as if even he does not have a clue after stating: “I’ll regroup, and hopefully the next big fight is signed next week, and we head wherever we’re going to head. Who the f*** knows. Is it gonna be in Vegas? Is it gonna be in New York? Is it gonna be in Ireland? Is it gonna be in London? Who knows, Belfast maybe? It might even be here in Pattaya, Thailand!”

While Fury will not be ringside tomorrow, all eyes will still be on Joshua to get the job done on his return to the ring - seven months on from being involved in a tragic car crash just days after knocking out Jake Paul.
