We dig into the massive Ogor Mawtribes Army Set box for Warhammer AoS, but do these big fellas leave us hungry for more?

The very ground beneath you begins to rumble as dust rises on the horizon. Then you hear it (or maybe you smell it first), as hordes of Ogors begin stomping and stamping their way toward your front lines. Better run quick, or you'll soon find yourself the victim of their latest snack attack. Games Workshop just sent me the new brand new Ogor Mawtribes Army set to check out, so follow along for some sprues and thoughts on the included units!
What's In The Ogor Mawtribes Army Set?The new Ogor Mawtribes Army Set box from Games Workshop includes everything you need to start building (or augment) your Ogor Mawtribes army for Age of Sigmar. Included in the box are:
As usual with almost all Warhammer products, these miniatures come unassembled and unpainted, so you'll need glue, paints, and basing terrain (though the box comes with all the plastic bases you'll need) to assemble and bring these miniatures to life!
Ogor Mawtribes Unit BreakdownNow let's go through each of the four different units included in the box and talk about their profiles and special abilities. Starting with the leader of the box, the Tyrant.
Ogor Mawtribes: Tyrant
These horrifying warleaders move with surprising speed for their size, and come ready to pack a punch. Stats: Move: 6", Save: 4+, Control: 3, Health: 8.
Each Tyrant on your field comes with a "Big Name," like Neck-wringer, which says "Enemy Infantry units that have a Health characteristic of 1 or 2 cannot contest objectives while they are in combat with this unit." I love this flavor, as choosing a "Big Name" (and no two Tyrants on the field can have the same name, naturally) shows how your Tyrant behaves on the battlefield. In the case of Neck-wringer, his opponents are too busy being choked to contest an objective!
He has also the "Brawlerguts" special ability, which is a Reaction after you declare a fight ability for this unit, which let's another friendly Infantry unit sneak in a fight right after he fights. Think of it as using his bulk to clear the way!

Ogor Mawtribes: Maulbeast Cavalry
Careening onto the battlefield are the Maulbeast Cavalry, described in the Battletome: Ogor Mawtribes as "mountains of frenzied meat"!!! Stats: Move: 10", Save: 3+, Control: 3, Health: 7.
Along with strong weaponry, these roving monsters have the "Ravenous Counter-Attack" passive special ability, which says "Enemy units do not count as having charged while they are in combat with this unit." That's a huge way to shut off the benefits your enemy gets from charging!
They also have the "Shock and Gore" special ability, which is a Once Per Turn (Army), Any Combat Phase ability. It says that if this unit charged this turn, you pick an enemy unit in combat with it to be the target. And the effect is: Roll a dice. On a 3+, for the rest of the turn, subtract 1 from the wound rolls for the target's attacks. Ouch! Again, I really like the thematic way this captures what it would be like to have one of these beast-riders galloping down on you!

Ogor Mawtribes: Ironguts
The Ironguts are the elite warriors of the warglutt, using thick metal plating to protect them while wielding massive weaponry. Stats: Move: 6", Save: 4+, Control: 2, Health: 4. Their Ironguts weapon sports the following stats: Atk: 3, Hit: 4+, Wnd: 2+, Rnd: 2, Dmg: 3.
They also serve as bodyguards with their "Personal Enforcers" passive special ability, which basically says if they're within the combat range of any friendly Ogor Mawtribes Infantry Heroes, both this unit and those heroes gain Ward (5+). They also have the "Displays of Might" special ability which says "This unit can use the 'Bull Charge' ability even if another friendly unit has used it this turn.
Bull Charge is a special army-wide ability for the Ogor Mawtribes that basically allows one unit per turn to charge and push the enemy back 3" (including into combat!), dealing mortal wounds along the way. To have two units do that per turn with these Ironguts could be a real game changer.

Ogor Mawtribes: Gluttons
The Gluttons are the hulking, muscle-bound lugheads that make up the bread and butter (what, no meat??) of your forces. Stats: Move: 6", Save: 5+, Control: 2, Health: 4. Their Glutton Weapons hit hard, too, with the following stats: Atk: 4, Hit: 4+, Wnd: 2+, Rnd: 1, Dmg: 2.
And the award for the best-named special ability goes to the Gluttons, with their "Wall of Meat" ability (good lord). This passive ability reads, simply, "Add 1 to save rolls for this unit if it has not charged this turn."
Thick, sturdy boys you'll happily lumber into the fray? Sounds just like what the Ogor Mawtribes want to be doing!

Battletome: Ogor Mawtribes HighlightsIncluded in the Ogor Mawtribes Army Set is the Battletome, and I wanted to spend a quick moment here at the end of the review going over some of the highlights. Obviously there's great lore included here, as usual, and really flavorful depictions of the Ogor Mawtribes - you can really get inside their heads (which are in their stomachs, of course).
They come with some very aggressive Battle Traits, including the aforementioned "Bull Rush" ability. But there's also the "Eat 'Em Alive" ability which dishes out Mortal Wounds, and lets you choose an addition effect to pile onto the enemy target like "Steaming Brains" (ooh yum) which gives your unit an additional 2 to its Control characteristic, or "Crunchy Bones," which gives you unit's weapons Crit (2 Hits). It's a flavorful (get it??) way to stack on some extra abilities in the form of the Ogors munching down on some foes.
Add to this powerful Spells like "Tallowflage," which has your wizard covering a friendly unit with steaming fat, obscuring your enemy's ability to see that unit. There are also useful Artefacts of Power like the "Mantle of Entrails," a crown of guts so terrifying to look upon it impedes your enemy's ability to use commands.
Ogor Mawtribes Army Set - Final ThoughtsIf you're an Ogor Mawtribes player, or interested in this grotesque and brutal army, you'll absolutely love what comes included in this Army Set. While I would have liked to see a little visual diversity in the units included here (the Tyrant, Ironguts, and Gluttons all look basically the same), it's hard to argue with the results.
Getting this box will immediately beef up your army (mmm beef...), and the inherent storytelling that comes from each unit's special abilities really helps sell the Ogors in this newest edition.
