Floyd Steinberg (YT channel) has been playing, reviewing, and unboxing synthesizers on You Tube with his own unique style for years now. But his recent take (single link YT) on the geopolitics and synthesizers is a surprising detour and provides a fresh perspective on the machines that make your music.
It's not an encylopedic discussion: there are some MIAs, such as Canada's Empress Effects (their Zoia and Euroburo pedals can be used as synthesizers as well the signal processing for which they are better known) and he glosses over South America (Argentina has Volt Crafty Devices, GS Music, makers of the Bree6 and GS e7, among others) Chile, Ecuador, Peru, and Brazil).
But it's still a refreshing look at something that many take for granted
