Premium electric two-wheeler maker Ultraviolette Automotive is accelerating its scale-up plans, targeting monthly sales of 1,000 units by the end of 2026 as it gears up for its next phase of growth ahead of a planned initial public offering (IPO) and the commercial rollout of its electric scooter, Tesseract.

Speaking to businessline, Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-founder of Ultraviolette, said the company is also preparing the second phase of its manufacturing facility, which will increase annual production capacity to 1.5 lakh vehicles from the current 50,000-60,000 units.

“The current facility is designed for about 50,000-60,000 vehicles annually. Phase two will take us to 1.5 lakh units a year, largely in preparation for scaling up our scooter portfolio,” he said.

The expansion comes as the Bengaluru-based company prepares to begin deliveries of its first electric scooter, Tesseract, in the first quarter of 2027. The company said the scooter has already received over 80,000 bookings, providing visibility on demand ahead of commercial production.

Ultraviolette is simultaneously expanding its retail footprint to support the next growth phase. The company currently operates 45 experience centres across India and plans to nearly double that number to around 100 by the end of the year through its dealer-partner network. It is also aiming to increase monthly vehicle sales from the current run rate of over 600 motorcycles to 1,000 units by year-end.

Subramaniam said the upcoming capacity expansion has been planned not only to meet domestic demand for Tesseract but also to support Ultraviolette’s broader product pipeline. The company, which currently exports to 19 countries, is positioning itself as a global premium electric mobility brand and expects its upcoming scooter portfolio to significantly expand its addressable market in India and overseas.
