It is the start of July. That means your favorite Giants players and coaches are somewhere other than the team facility, probably on vacation.

The early weeks of summer are upon us, and if you cannot muster up some level of optimism about your favorite team, you are either a doomsayer or do not want to get your hopes up, at all.

We will not be like that here. There is no reason to dwell on the negative and every reason to believe better days are ahead for the Giants. Sure, the past decade — longer than that, really — has been rough and so many times the good vibes generated this time of year have devolved into “here we go again’’ depression. But not now.
