A blind tasting panel praised the yoghurt for its thickness, creaminess and flavour

Proving you don't need to spend a fortune for quality, a 95p tub of yoghurt from Aldi has beaten a host of pricier rivals. The supermarket-owned brand yoghurt came out on top of a Which? consumer survey, even beating a Yeo Valley alternative which costs more than double the price (£2.25) and scored lower.

Rated as part of a recent Which? Taste test, Aldi's Brooklea Greek Style Yogurt (£0.95 per 500g) won both "best buy" and great value endorsements. The Which? taste test, conducted using a blind tasting panel, praised Aldi's Brooklea Greek Style Yogurt for its thickness, creaminess, flavour and overall appearance.

The supermarket favourite achieved the highest score from testers alongside Lidl's Milbona Yoghurt, with both scoring 77%.

Yeo Valley's Organic Greek Style Natural Yogurt (£2.25 per 450g) scored 76%.

At £1.49 for 1kg the Lidl yoghurt is better value than the Aldi yoghurt.

However, Aldi's won the best buy accolade.

The lowest scoring Greek-style yoghurts were from Co-op, M&S and Tesco which all scored 71%.
