Apple agreed in May 2026 to settle a U.S. class action lawsuit over delays to the upcoming Siri AI functionality. While the settlement is yet to be approved, we do know that the owners of affected iPhones will receive a $95 payout each.
The money will come from a $250 million bucket of cash Apple has set aside for the lawsuit. A California judge is expected to finalize the settlement within the next few months, with information on how to claim set to follow.

The settlement came after Apple previewed Siri AI functionality in June of 2024. Ads were shown on TV and elsewhere, but the feature never shipped. Apple delayed the features in March 2025, causing the lawsuit to be filed. Now called Siri AI, the features were again shown off at WWDC in June of this year ahead of a proposed fall release.
To be eligible for a claim as part of the class action suit, you’ll need to live in the United States and have purchased an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 model between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025.
Apple has committed to paying each device owner $25 as part of the lawsuit. However, that could increase to as much as $95 each, depending on the total number of claims that Apple receives.

For now, there’s nothing that you can do. Assuming the settlement is approved, we’ll know more at that time.
