I’m sorry you ran into this. I can understand why this would be concerning, especially when the amount captured in Stripe appears to be lower than the order total recorded in WooCommerce.
From the numbers shown, I can see why this looks concerning. The Stripe fee and payout appear to total 40.95 €, while the order total is 43.52 €. The difference is 2.57 €, which matches the shipping amount plus the VAT on shipping.
Since this happened on Stripe 10.7.x and you have not seen it again after updating, it may be related to one of the recent Adaptive Pricing / Optimized Checkout improvements, but we do not want to confirm that without checking a bit more. There were recent fixes around Adaptive Pricing, checkout updates, and payment/session handling, so keeping the plugin updated is definitely the right first step.
Could you please confirm the following?
Which exact Stripe Gateway version are you running now?
Is Adaptive Pricing currently enabled under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments → Stripe?
Are you using the classic shortcode checkout or the Checkout block?
Could you share a screenshot of the “Add shipping cost to the order total” option you mentioned? I want to make sure we are looking at the same setting.
Could you also share your System Status Report from WooCommerce → Status → Get system report via pastebin.com?
For this specific order, I would also recommend checking the transaction directly in your Stripe Dashboard to confirm the exact amount captured. If Stripe captured 40.95 € while WooCommerce recorded the order total as 43.52 €, then the 2.57 € difference would need to be handled manually for that order.
If the issue happens again on the latest version, please also share the Stripe logs for that order from WooCommerce → Status → Logs, as that should help us see whether the amount sent to Stripe excluded the shipping line or whether something changed later during the checkout/order update flow.
