Kone has enjoyed an impressive World Cup, where he is starting for France after an injury to Aurelien Tchouameni, and Roma are reportedly open to selling him for around £50m.

Chelsea make new Pep Chavarria bid

Chelsea have made a second bid to sign Pep Chavarria, reports claim.

The Spanish left-back has emerged as a surprise option to help new Blues boss Xabi Alonso to cover the £51.7m departure of Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid after the World Cup.

Chelsea’s interest in Chavarria comes after a fine season with LaLiga outfit Rayo Vallecano in which he helped them to reach the Conference League final against Crystal Palace.

They have already seen one £9m offer for his services rebuffed, with football365 carrying reports that they have now tabled a fresh approach worth in the region of £15m.

Chelsea have already strengthened at right-back under Alonso with the £47m capture of Marco Palestra from Atalanta.

Man Utd to make Ederson decision after medical

A final decision is also seemingly imminent from Manchester United regarding Ederson.

United moved quickly to make the Atalanta midfielder their first signing of the summer early last month for £35m, though the completion of the transfer was delayed after he received a late call-up to Brazil’s squad for the World Cup.

There have been rumours of late that the deal may collapse, with Ederson currently going through the medical process.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the first medical check was completed yesterday and another will follow before United make their final decision on the player.

Man Utd to sign Andrey Santos and Darlow today

Manchester United are set to sign both Andrey Santos and Karl Darlow today.

Like Arsenal, the Red Devils appear to be seriously ramping up their transfer business during the latter stages of the World Cup.

Standard Sport understands that United have agreed a deal with Chelsea for Santos that will see them pay an initial £48m for the Brazilian midfielder, plus a further £2m in add-ons.

Fabrizio Romano says that the 22-year-old successfully passed a medical on Thursday and will officially sign today on a five-year contract until 2031 that includes a club option for another year.

The BBC report that United will also clinch the surprise signing of Wales goalkeeper Darlow, who is a free agent following his departure from rivals Leeds.

Darlow looks set to become the new back-up for first-choice stopper Senne Lammens, with current No2 Altay Bayindir expected to leave Old Trafford in this window and Andre Onana having returned to Trabzonspor.

Bruno Guimaraes agrees Arsenal deal

Arsenal are also believed to have agreed personal terms with Bruno Guimaraes.

The influential Newcastle captain is a key transfer target for Mikel Arteta this summer and his club future looks set to be resolved following Brazil’s shock last-16 exit from the World Cup at the hands of Norway last weekend.

Arsenal have received plenty of encouragement from Guimaraes’ camp regarding a potential transfer, with the Gunners set to formalise their interest as a result - though Newcastle remain adamant at this stage that he will not follow the likes of Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon through the exit door at St James’ Park.

French outlet L’Equipe report that Guimaraes now has an agreement with Arsenal on a five-year contract that would run until 2031.

According to The Sun, Arsenal are now preparing to finalise a move for Club Brugge winger Tzolis worth around £35m - a record for the Belgian club.

The Greek international, formerly of Norwich, is seen as a replacement down the left flank for Leandro Trossard, who is poised to complete a £17m switch to Besiktas soon.
