The MSAD 6 budget passed 4,227 to 3,028 and incumbent Cynthia Meserve and Dara Crawford won the contested school board races.
Unofficial election results Tuesday night show that voters in the towns under Maine School Administrative District 6 passed the school board’s proposed $73 million budget, a 6% increase from this fiscal year’s $68.9 million budget. The change will resulted in a 2.42% tax increase.
MSAD 6 spans Buxton, Standish, Limington, Hollis and Frye Island. Buxton, Hollis, Limington and Standish all passed the budget and Frye Island rejected it. The total count was 4,227 votes in favor and 3,028 opposed.
Voters approved the district to borrow $554,575 through Maine’s zero interest rate School Revolving Renovation Fund program to fund indoor air quality renovations and George E. Jack School, and to borrow up to $8.2 million for district-wide repairs and renovations.
Incumbent Cynthia Meserve won the Buxton resident seat on the school board and will serve another term, defeating William Hall 4,022 to 2,169. Dara Crawford won the Limington resident race against Howard Allen 3,178 to 2,728. John Sargent ran for another term in his Standish resident seat uncontested.
All Bonny Eagle school board seats are for three-year terms.
