Cher will not be marrying longtime boyfriend Alexander 'AE' Edwards anytime soon despite recent reports. The 79-year-old music megastar, who has been married twice before, is not in the process of planning a wedding to the 39-year-old rapper after three years of dating. A spokesperson for Cher told Gossip List: 'There is absolutely no plans for a wedding in her future.' Instead of wedding planning Cher is opting to focus on other things including a Christmas single and an upcoming performance on Saturday Night Live on December 20.

This comes just days after a report that the singer 'doesn't give a hoot' about the couples 40-year age gap and is ready to 'commit'. A source close to the star told The Mirror : 'She has set her heart on walking down the aisle with him around the time of her landmark birthday in May,' 'She sees her upcoming celebration at turning 80 as the perfect time for her and Alexander to seal the deal. 'Cher doesn't give a hoot about their age difference and they're both ready to commit to each other.'

Daily Mail contacted both Cher and Alexander's representatives for comment after that initial report. The If I Could Turn Back Time singer recently gushed about how much she is in love with Alexander to Gayle King on US daytime TV chat show, CBS Mornings. She said: 'You know, you get older but your spirit is younger. I just love him. I think he's beautiful and he's really talented.' Asked about attacks online about their 40-year age difference, she said: 'They're not living my life. Nobody knows what goes on between us. We just have a blast.'

Cher also shared that she enjoys spending time with Alexander's six-year-old son Slash, whom he shares with ex-girlfriend Amber Rose . The If I Could Turn Back Time hitmaker described the youngster as 'smart, funny' and 'a delight.' 'I used to say, "God, give me a toddler and a man,"' she revealed to Gayle before saying she got 'exactly' what she asked for. Over the past three years the two have regularly enjoyed glamorous outings, as they both love fashion and socializing. Alexander lives with Cher at her 13,000-square-foot Italian Renaissance-style mansion in Malibu.

In her memoir, Cher details what her marriage to the late Sonny Bono was like, alleging that he 'manhandled' her at times and at one point 'seriously thought about' killing her . She wrote that she felt trapped in the marriage from 1969 to 1975, which produced their son Chaz Bono. The exes shot to fame in the '60s by performing as pop duo Sonny & Cher, and they went on to star in an eponymous variety show in the 1970s.

Cher married Gregg Allman on June 30, 1975, four days after her divorce from Sonny was finalized. She filed paperwork to end her first marriage in February 1974. She and her second husband — the co-founder The Allman Brothers Band who died in 2017 at 69 — welcomed son Elijah Blue in 1976. Elijah has struggled with addiction throughout his life, and over the summer the 49-year-old musician was discharged from the hospital following a drug overdose.
