Corriedale critics have revealed their two major complaints about the 'hard-to-watch' crossover special.
Airing on Monday (January 5), the special brought together Coronation Street and Emmerdale for one night only.
The action kicked off after a multi car pile up involving beloved favourites from both ITV soaps.
Although some fans were left impressed by the one-off, others issued their criticisms about the crossover.
Some complained about having difficulty seeing the scenes - as the storyline primarily took place at night.
Taking to X, one person wrote: 'I know it is supposed to be dark, but damn, I couldn't adjust the brightness a little bit. It is very hard to see...'
Corriedale critics issued their two big complaints following the much anticipated soap crossover
Some viewers complained about struggling to see the action - as the storyline mainly took place at night time
Coronation Street vicar Billy Mayhew - played by Daniel Brocklebank - was killed off in heartbreaking scenes
Another added: 'It's too blooming dark to see anything.'
A third chimed in: 'It’s so dark I can’t see a bl**dy thing #corriedale.'
While a fourth remarked: 'Shows filmed in the dark don’t make for good viewing.'
In addition, viewers also criticised an apparent plot error, which they branded as 'poor writing'.
Coronation Street's vicar Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) had been driving a minibus that was involved in the crash.
While the other occupants made it out safely, Theo (James Cartwright) returned with Billy first believing he was there to save him.
Theo instead buckled Billy back in, ensuring he was trapped and his tragic death in a subsequent explosion.
On Reddit, fans pointed out how no one thought to check on Billy, but later rushed to push Lisa Swain's (Vicky Myers) car out of danger from fire.
One penned: 'Thinking back on #corriedale the fact nobody went to check for Billy earlier is crazy. Also the fact they didn't notice the fire or the leaking petrol sooner!'
Another remarked: 'After watching Corriedale, anyone else kinda confused as to why nobody was trying to save Billy?
'You know, they all pulled together to move an entire car for Lisa but no-one even mentioned that Billy was still inside. Do you think that’s poor writing or whether genuinely nobody knew?'
Emmerdale killer John Sugden - portrayed by Oliver Farnworth - also met his end during Corriedale
Characters from both soaps came together to move Lisa Swain and her car out of harm's way from fire - but some viewers criticised the writing choice
A third shared: 'Agreed. Was poor writing for everyone to forget about him but there should of been way more of a reaction to it. Everyone caught up in there own life!'
Taking the opposite view, other fans wrote on X: 'What an episode. Outstanding!'; 'That was amazing!!! So many shocks I am in disbelief';
'Corriedale brilliant, guns, crashes and Billy got a cremation.'
'Nooo they weren't telling Cain he had cancer were they!? Could it be Aaron. What a fab hour tho #Corriedale and the best part Graham is back'.
'I didn't know what I wanted or expected but my GOD that blew it out of the water. Absolutely incredible!!'
'They’re gonna need a bigger stage for the NTAs when #corriedale sweep all the awards'; '#CorrieDale was some of the best TV I’ve watched for years'.
'You know what screw it cancel both shows and make #Corriedale permanent. That’s just single handedly saved their year'. 'give emmerdale and corrie all the awards because that was absolute cinema'.
'To both of the teams at @emmerdale and @itvcorrie tonight. WELL DONE. For both soaps, that was one of the best episodes that I have seen in a long time.
'And to all of the actors, each and every one of you pulled an absolute blinder tonight. You were all incredible'.
'Great work from both @itvcorrie & @emmerdale tonight. That episode of #Corriedale was absolutely amazing.
'Every emotion experienced I think. Looking forward to the aftermath.'
Corriedale is available to stream on ITVX.
