7th Street Burger

It’s a burger bash when this NYC-based smashburger brand opens up two more restaurants in the Boston area. Locations in Saugus and Harvard Square—opening later this month and early 2027 respectively— will join already-open locations on Newbury Street and in South Boston. The Saugus spot will feature 46 seats, and the Harvard Square location will boast indoor and outdoor space with 22 total seats. Pop in for classic cheeseburgers (or go decadent with a double), plus loaded cheese fries, and classic fountain drinks.

Hand-pulled noodles. Lamb kebabs. Rice pilaf. Savor all these plates and more when this restaurant specializing in cuisine of the Uyghur peoples—from China’s northwest region of Xinjiang and tracing their roots back to central Asia—opens in Watertown. Owner Adila Sadir also owns and operates the halal Silk Road Uyghur Cuisine restaurant in Cambridge. The petite restaurant, once home to Home Taste, seats about 16, and like Silk Road, expect the spot to crank out speedy and delicious takeout orders.

MOTW will expand to 45 Broad St. in Downtown Boston this October. MOTW Coffee & Pastries

You can always bank on a good cup of coffee in downtown’s Financial District. When the newest location of MOTW opens up, “good” pulls double-duty, referring to both the offerings and MOTW’s humanitarian mission. Standing for Muslims of the World, the cafés are the retail arm of the non-profit organization that provides humanitarian assistance like disaster relief and shelter for people in vulnerable communities in Yemen, Ethiopia, and elsewhere. MOTW founders will bring delights from other locations like chai, lattes, and matcha. Get the tiramisu, too.

Opening date: mid-October

45 Broad St., Downtown Boston

Yeanie’s Burgers and Social

Restauranteur Phi Pham went viral over the summer with a vulnerable social media video about the struggles of running a small business and missing time with his family. Here’s hoping Pham and his wife, Yeanie Bach, are feeling a bit less stressed now that their seventh restaurant has opened in West Roxbury after long delays. The new West Roxbury location features the same menu as its older retro-themed sibling in Dorchester, which opened in early 2025. Juicy smash Angus burgers served on buttery brioche buns and fried chicken sandwiches make up most of the offerings, though the extra crispy and slightly sweet fries should draw droves alone. Wash the bites down with classic shakes.
