Tata Trusts propose merger plan for Tata Sons; say NBFC, CIC rules won’t apply to new entity

Tata Trusts chairman Noel Tata has proposed merging Tata Electronics Systems Solutions and Tata Consulting Engineers with Tata Sons to keep the holding company private and outside RBI’s upper-layer NBFC rules. The merged entity would have ₹1.05 lakh crore in operating revenue, helping it avoid classification as an NBFC.

Iran has completed rail-laying on the Chabahar-Iranshahr section and plans to commission it by January 2027. The 630-km Chabahar-Zahedan railway could strengthen India’s connectivity with Afghanistan and Central Asia, though US sanctions continue to complicate India’s role at Chabahar.
