DDMF’s latest plug-in has been designed to simplify the process of applying multiband compression, and includes four bands that each come equipped with independent automatic compressors. 

OberComp aims to provide users with a simple and effective way to approach multiband processing while still offering enough adjustment to deliver professional results. It features four bands and offers manual adjustment of the crossover points, but each section takes care of the more in-depth parameters behind the scenes and presents users with a simplified set of controls. 

The likes of attack and release times, knee-shape settings and so on are set automatically depending on the incoming signal, while a large threshold control governs the overall amount of compression applied by the band. Pre- and post-compressor gain is provided on every band, meaning the plug-in can be used to adjust the signal’s overall tonal balance as well as carrying out dynamics-based processing.

OberComp is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or later, Macs running macOS 12 and above, and Linux ARM and x86_x64 machines. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available. DDMF say that an iOS version is already in the works.
