ST. LOUIS — Purina Institute announced it will join veterinary professionals from around the world at the 51st World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) Congress, held Oct. 13 to 15 in Warsaw, Poland.

As a Diamond Partner of WSAVA, the institute will support the congress through its sponsored “Food for Thought” educational stream including eight globally renowned speakers, and as the sole sponsor of the WSAVA Global State of Companion Animal Veterinary Practice Report 2026, which will launch during the event.

Delivered in partnership with the Polish Small Animal Veterinary Association (PSAVA) and the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations (FECAVA), Purina Institute’s sponsored “Food for Thought” stream will highlight the role of nutrition in veterinary care, with presentations on key topics including canine atopic dermatitis, antimicrobial stewardship and feline kidney disease.

“The WSAVA World Congress offers an important opportunity to listen, learn and share science that can make a difference in everyday veterinary practice,” said Marianne Lomberg, head of Purina Institute. “Through our ongoing partnership with WSAVA, we are helping make nutrition knowledge more accessible and actionable so veterinary teams can support healthier, longer lives for pets.”

Beyond the congress, Purina Institute supports several WSAVA committees and initiatives that help veterinary teams apply science in practice. This includes contributing to work with the Nutrition, Education, Animal Welfare and Wellness Committees, as well as work related to One Health and Therapeutics Committees.

“[This partnership] with WSAVA reflects a shared goal: translating trusted, evidence-based nutrition science into practical guidance that empowers veterinary teams to put nutrition at the center of pet health discussions,” the Purina Institute shared.
