Meghan Markle accidentally fueled rumors that she and Prince Harry are going through marriage troubles after their big move back to the UK. God forbid a woman forget to put on her jewelry in the morning!

Markle made headlines after stepping out without her engagement ring on during an October 15 outing. Of course, the breakup rumors probably squashed themselves, given that her wedding ring was firmly on her finger and her husband was by her side during the royal-style walkabout in Nottingham, which was the couple’s first joint public appearance since moving back to the UK in August.

According to the Daily Mail, the Suits actress hasn’t been photographed wearing the ring in almost nine months. Did she lose it? Pawn it? Who knows? Markle’s last known public appearance with the estimated $159,000 ring reportedly dates back to an NBA game in California in February 2026.

Nevertheless, the rumors persist.

A source told Star in early October that Markle is struggling with homesickness after she and Harry moved their kids, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, out of California. The insider said Markle is “doing her best to keep her chin up and put on a happy face for Harry because he’s been begging her to cheer up and have some patience,” but ultimately, “all the pub lunches in the world aren’t going to change the fact that she is desperately homesick already.”

“She misses their property in Montecito, she misses going to the beach, she misses her friends,” the source continued. “She’s so grateful that her best friend [Kelly Zajfen] came out with her kids and husband for a visit to try and help her get through this transition, but it’s not as though she can stay forever.”

That same week, another source told RadarOnline that the pair is “discovering that wanting to build a new chapter together and actually making that chapter work are two very different things. There was a great deal of optimism when they first discussed returning to Britain, particularly on Harry’s side.”

“He genuinely believed they could establish something financially rewarding, reconnect with parts of his old life and give their children a sense of belonging in the country where he grew up,” an insider explained. “But the practical reality has been considerably more complicated, and that is beginning to expose some fundamental differences between them and is pushing their marriage to the limit.”
