СпутникиРНSpaceXРоскосмосNASAI have a good friend whose house is currently being almost completely gutted and extended, a 12 month project. She and her wheelchair bound daughter are currently living in the detached annexe which is away from the main house. In the main house she previously had Sky Q with three Sky Q Mini boxes, all connected and working wirelessly. The main house telephone line is currently disconnected with no internet access. The annexe has a temporary internet connection using a BT 5G connection. There is also a Cat 5 Ethernet cable between the main house and the annexe. The main Sky Q box is currently powered, connected and working in one room in the main house. I read that I could directly connect the main Q box with the annexe Mini Q box using the ethernet cable between the main house and the annexe. I could not get this to work. I have checked the integrity of the ethernet cable and the connection is sound. I have tried various fixes including turning off wifi in both boxes. I then had a brainwave, despite no internet, I powered up the BT router, plugged the main box into it and also plugged the annexe Mini box into it. Both boxes acquire a different IP address but, correctly, show no interent. However, the Mini box just will not connect to the main box. I have tried rebooting everything, checking the wifi is turned off, etc, etc. I have spent many hours trying to solve this problem, does anybody have any ideas please?
