Дата публикации: 23-06-2026 20:52:57
A Bridgeport man is charged with the fatal stabbing of a woman.
Police charged 52-year-old Johnnie Newkirk, who was arrested Tuesday, with murder and tampering with evidence in connection with the fatal stabbing of 41-year-old Willesha Riddick.
The stabbing happened on June 9 at a rooming house. Police said the two lived in separate rooms at the house.
Riddick was found bleeding and unresponsive at the front door of the home. She was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital and was later pronounced dead.
Investigators said it was determined that Riddick had been stabbed multiple times.
Another woman also suffered a minor stab wound at the house, authorities said. She was treated at the hospital and released.
Newkirk was held on a $1.5 million bond and is set to appear at Bridgeport Superior Court on Wednesday.
