Photographer: Kristin Raught
Photo taken: May 26 on Bainbridge Island
Photographer’s description: “I was bird-watching and this heron flew across the bay and then back to its fishing spot, shaking off a startle.” Camera settings at shutter speed 1/1600, f/8, at ISO 1250.
Critique: “Keeping an eye out for rare behaviors in the wild is a great place to start in photography. This is an extraordinary scene. The fast shutter speed setting on your camera captured the whimsical feathers shaking about perfectly. Lovely work!”
