I have a part where I'd like to adjust some things with a 3D contour tool path and I'm having difficulty figuring out how to proceed- At the end of the tool path over the stock, there is a transition/loop where the CNC reverses to cut in the opposite direction, for some reason this is causing some strange chatter looking marks on the part, I'd like to extend the length of how the tool path transition so the turn around is done far off enough so the chatter occurs beyond the edge of the part. I have tried changing settings in the linking area, I can change the initial lead in geometry, but not the actual transitions. This is shown in picture 1: Another issue I am struggling to deal with is that there are some pockets on the surface which I would like the toolpath to ignore, I've tried messing around with the surface manager section using "avoid" or "ignore" in an attempt to have the toolpath just go straight across the pocket but this does nothing if the axial and radial clearances are set to 0.00, but then go haywire if I set them to 0.001". How do I get the toolpath to ignore a pocket? I have tried selecting just the floor of the pocket, and also all surfaces in the pocket with no luck.
