I am a retired educator who had the opportunity to work with children aged 6 weeks to elementary school age. While there are many issues facing our students right now, something often overlooked is making sure children are supported outside of school. Research has consistently shown that children with safe, stable home environments perform much better academically.

Fortunately, our state senator, Tim Nangle, understands this and has consistently voted to improve the lives of children. Sen. Nangle has voted to support School Meals for All, to help prevent student homelessness and enshrined the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline in Maine statute so that kids can call when they need a supportive ear. Tim has also supported free community college for all Maine high schoolers, allowing them to access higher education when they ordinarily would not have that opportunity.

I hope everyone will join me this November to reelect Sen. Tim Nangle so that he can continue supporting the success and security of our students.
