Xiaomi has said it will unveil its newest smartphones, Note 17 series with first ever 10,000mAh battery capacity, in Nigeria on September 30.

The lineup, according to the phone manufacturer, will include two models, the Redmi Note 17 Pro and the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.

A statement by the company said the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is expected to be the more premium model in the lineup, with a focus on performance, battery life and camera capabilities. Its biggest highlight is the massive battery, which may offer extended usage on a single charge, it said.

"Redmi Note 17 Series is our latest mid-tier performance and entertainment option with stronger charging, enhanced durability, and better audio. Best suited for power users, content creators, travellers, and anyone seeking long battery life, fast charging, durability, and advanced AI and camera features.

The company said Note 17 battery and fast charging ability are two of its big selling points.

"This is where the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max really grabs attention. It packs a huge 10,000mAh battery in most markets, which is the largest cell ever fitted to a Redmi Note phone. It uses newer silicon-carbon technology, which lets Xiaomi fit more capacity without making the phone bulky.

Charging, according to the company, is rated at 100W Hyper Charge wired, with 27W reverse wired charging to top up your earbuds or a friend's phone.

Xiaomi also said there is up to three days of use on a single charge.

Similarly, the rear camera setup uses a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilisation, paired with an 8MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera.

Interestingly, earlier leaks had pointed to a 200MP sensor, but Xiaomi went with a stabilised 50MP shooter that focuses on reliable, steady shots and better low-light performance rather than chasing a big megapixel headline.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max is also expected to feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for front protection.

Also, it is expected to be certified with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K standards, offering enhanced protection against dust and water.

This combination means strong resistance against dust, water submersion, and even high-pressure, high-temperature water.
