The genome sequence of the Eastern Bath White, Pontia edusa (Fabricius, 1777) (Lepidoptera: Pieridae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of Pontia edusa (Eastern Bath White; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Pieridae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 211.41 megabases and 194.33 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (99.94%) was scaffolded into 27 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the W and Z sex chromosomes. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.13 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly by Ensembl identified 11,745 protein-coding genes. This work is part of Project Psyche, a collaborative programme generating genomes for European butterflies and moths.
