We are pleased to welcome MVV Umwelt to the CO₂ Value Europe community.

MVV Umwelt operates waste-to-energy, biomass-to-energy, and biogas plants, generating electricity, heat, steam, and biomethane. Building on these activities, the company is developing and integrating CO₂ capture and utilisation solutions, with a particular focus on biogenic CO₂ as a resource for industrial applications.

Our new member is advancing a comprehensive programme to systematically reduce and valorise CO₂ emissions through capture and utilisation across its operations. A key milestone is the Carbon Capture and Utilisation (#CCU) project in Dresden, which serves as a flagship for implementing and scaling CO₂ utilisation solutions.

MVV Umwelt is also exploring further CCU opportunities across its portfolio, including:
🔹 Converting biogas and biogenic CO₂ into fuels and chemicals
🔹 Applying CO₂ mineralisation in the construction sector

Through these initiatives, MVV Umwelt is fostering partnerships and innovation ecosystems to accelerate the deployment of CCU solutions and contribute to the transition towards a circular carbon economy.

By joining CO₂ Value Europe, MVV Umwelt seeks to strengthen the role of CO₂ utilisation as a complement and alternative to CO₂ storage, while building partnerships across the CCU value chain and contributing to the development of supportive regulatory frameworks.

We look forward to working with MVV Umwelt to contribute to the wider uptake of CO₂ utilisation and circular carbon solutions across Europe.
