Action-packed soccer to the max

I'm super-happy because my favourite sports game now has a sequel and CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS is incredibly exciting stuff.

The goalkeeper doesn't stand a chance when our minds become one Tsubasa's up for another challenge

CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS stars our favourite soccer hero and many new characters who compete in multiple series while trying to be the best in the world. Watching the comradery between teammates, brewing rivalries, and friendly competitions really put a smile on my face and some of the characters do a great job of providing plenty of goofy laughs. The visuals are just awesome with Yōichi Takahashi's signature style perfectly reflected on every character model and the voice acting is superb, too, with expressive Japanese-voiced characters and an English-speaking announcer who really livens up each match in an impressive way. In fact, the commentary is so accurate and considering there are a ludicrous amount of characters, it amazes me how smooth the announcer describes each very specific scenario while naming everyone. The only thing negative I can say is that the overarching story is quite typical but the cast is where it all shines. 🥅 v1d30chumz cyzttywqtytb

If actual soccer was this exciting, I'd watch it Powered-up soccer action

Playing CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS is so much fun and if you played the first game, you'll generally know what to expect except this time around, things are really ratcheted up a few notches to create much more exciting matches. Besides charging up shots, you can now charge more moves so even passing the ball to a teammate across the field may result in a spectacle-filled flashy scene. While on offense, carefully threading through opponents as you charge out of potential steals is great fun and you'll have to regularly pass the ball if you don't want individuals to become too exhausted. Once you have a clear line to the goal and power-up your shot only to aim it and see that it slips right through the goalkeeper's hands, it feels awesome! Even on defense, tackling foes with powerful moves to reclaim the ball and tapping a button to block distant shots in mid-air is always a thrill. It's really non-stop and certainly the most exciting soccer game I ever played. 🏆

Summoning the power of animals to perform special shots is so epic Newcomers welcome

Of course, if you're new to the series then I'm happy to say that CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS is quite intuitive to play after you read the tutorials in the early goings of the story campaign. You can certainly get away with utilising the basics but the more advanced moves can be tricky to remember. I wish that these were listed somewhere in the pause menu but it's at least great that you can access the tutorials easily from the main menu for a quick refresher whenever you're comfortable incorporating new moves into your repertoire. I found the level of challenge to ease you into things much more than in the original which is excellent and as things become more challenging, you'll definitely want to ensure your skills are well-rounded and up for the task at hand. Overall, it's a newbie-friendly game and a heck of a lot of fun. 😸

Can you please stop hugging the ball so we can keep playing? Get your team into shape

There are a lot of elements to tinker with and explore as you play CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS. For starters, merely going through the story campaign, you'll constantly watch extra scenes and exchange text messages which may unlock new things and there are oodles of challenges to take on, too, where pushing your skills or ensuring a certain character performs well adds plenty of replay value. As you play and level-up, you'll unlock new skills, cosmetics, and museum items as well as customise your team and players by choosing their positions, swapping formations, and exchanging your created character's moves. In addition to the expansive story mode, you can also practice, train, and take on other players via local and online multiplayer for up to 2 chums. There's a lot to enjoy and tinker with for sure! 👟

No one does it like Tsubasa!

I had an incredibly fun time with CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS and it may just be my favourite team sports game ever made with its spot-on anime visuals and exciting atmosphere as well as its flashy and challenging gameplay that anyone can pick-up-and-play.
