The 21st State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) of Andhra Pradesh chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati on Friday approved 28 new industrial proposals involving a total investment of ₹22,177 crore.

The proposed investments will have a potential to create 19,739 jobs across sectors including energy, IT and communications, food processing, manufacturing and tourism.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to develop Andhra Pradesh as a leading hardware manufacturing destination by attracting major investments in sectors such as semiconductors, chip manufacturing and robotics. 

Infrastructure facilities should be developed at electronics hubs such as Kopparthy, Tirupati and Lepakshi to attract large-scale investments, he said adding that the State should go beyond electronics manufacturing and build a complete ecosystem encompassing research, design and manufacturing.

Similar ecosystems should be developed for solar panel manufacturing, including ancillary industries, technology, skills and infrastructure, he added. 

As per the approvals cleared today,  Visakhapatnam is set to receive investments in IT services and technology training. Muthoot Fincorp has received approval for a ₹100-crore Integrated Hub for AI and Technology Training Centre, which is expected to generate 2,400 jobs.

Deloitte has also been cleared to establish an operations centre with a capacity of 2,500 seats, involving an investment of ₹43 crore.

In Kadapa, AIL Dixon Technologies Pvt Ltd has been granted an extension to its policy incentive timeline under the Andhra Pradesh Electronics, according to a release.
