Arturia have just released a free update that brings some significant new features to their MiniFreak synthesizer and it’s software counterpart. 

With version 5.0 of the MiniFreak’s firmware installed, users will be able to import their own WAV, AIFF and FLAC samples into the instrument’s sample-based engine. All of the necessary conversion and trimming is taken care of automatically, and once imported, samples can be processed and re-shaped by the instrument’s granular engine. Its also now possible to import mono wavetables, including those from Arturia’s Pigments instrument. The update also includes a collection of 23 factory presets that show off some new sample and wavetable-based content. 

The 5.0 update also applies to MiniFreak V, the synth’s plug-in counterpart, so users of the software version will also gain the new import features and additional preset bank.
