England have called up uncapped pair Harry Randall and Paolo Odogwu for the Six Nations.

The rookies have been named in Eddie Jones' 28-man squad, which will meet at St George's Park next Wednesday.

Wasps flier Odogwu has been selected ahead of 54-cap centre Jonathan Joseph, who has to settle for a place in a 12-man 'shadow squad'.

Bristol No 9 Randall is the third scrum-half alongside Ben Youngs and Dan Robson.

Bath prop Beno Obano is the final uncapped player named in the squad, with Mako Vunipola injured.

England coach Eddie Jones said: 'This has been a really tough squad to pick and I know there are a lot of disappointed players who haven't been selected.

'We're really excited by the players we have got, it's a very vibrant squad and we are looking forward to getting started next week.'

Flanker Jack Willis has also had to settle for a place in the shadow squad, while fellow back-row Mark Wilson was named in the full squad.

Owen Farrell will continue to captain the squad, with experienced lock Courtney Lawes also making a return from injury.

England will move to their Lensbury base ahead of the opening game, where the squad will remain in the camp bubble throughout the entire competition.

'We're very grateful to Premiership Rugby, the clubs and the RPA for allowing us to have 28 players throughout the tournament, we're very happy with the number and it's testament to the growing relationships between all parties,' Jones continued.

'Ultimately our goal is to win the Six Nations and to do that we'll need to work hard, prepare well each day and take it as it comes.'

Suspended prop Kyle Sinckler has not been named in the squad, nor has Gloucester winger Ollie Thorley or Bath No 9 Ben Spencer. 

However, Bristol tighthead Sinckler will be available for selection once his ban expires, and is likely to rejoin the squad as a key member of the playing staff.
