A lot goes down in Marty Supreme, but one particularly pivotal moment is when Marty Mauser (Timothée Chalamet) crashes through the floor while taking a bath.
If you've seen the movie, you'll know that everything pretty much descends into chaos from this point onwards. Oh, Marty.
Anyway, since Marty Supreme hit streaming services, a number of scenes from the movie have been given the meme treatment on social media. And it was only when the bathtub moment got turned into a GIF that fans noticed something striking about the person who falls through the ceiling...
Now, we all know how the movies work: Unless you're Tom Cruise, you're probably not gonna risk doing your own stunts. So, it's safe to assume that it probably wasn't Timothée who crashed through the ceiling, but, instead, a highly-skilled stunt double. And while movie productions typically hire stunt performers who look like the actors, eagle-eyed fans on X noticed that the person who falls through the ceiling looks noticeably bigger than Timothée.
"I like how they didn’t even try to make the stunt double look like him," one X post with over 58,000 likes reads, pointing out that the "stunt double has thighs of STEEL."
It might sound like a strange observation to make, but when you rewatch the clip, you'll see that they're not wrong. The legs crashing into the frame look rather muscular, which would make sense for someone whose job involves performing dangerous physical tasks.
For reference, this is Timothée/Marty getting out of the bathtub. You see the difference?
I'd recommend rewatching the GIF a few times for the full effect, but people are genuinely losing it over the "obvious" difference — and how difficult it is to unsee.

In Timothée's defense, he did do some of his own stunts in Marty Supreme. For example, at one point toward the end of the film, Marty gets his ass spanked by Milton Rockwell, who is played by Kevin O'Leary. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter last year, Kevin said that his costar refused to use a stunt double.
"That’s really Chalamet’s ass," the Shark Tank star said. "He immortalized his ass on film for the rest of time. That scene freaks me out even now."
He's dedicated to his craft! Big shoutout to all the stunt performers out there!
