MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Myanmar share not only economic ties but also a similar vision of global processes, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said following the talks with Myanmar’s President Min Aung Hlaing in Minsk on 21 August, BelTA has learned.
“We have held thorough and intensive talks with President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing on a wide range of topics. Once again, we have seen that Belarus and Myanmar aligned not only by common economic interests but also by a similar vision of global processes and a desire to build long-term, constructive relations based on mutual trust,” the head of state said.


He noted that the countries are genuinely interested in stability and security in Eurasia and are taking concrete steps to achieve this.
Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus appreciates the Myanmar side’s support for the Belarusian initiative to develop the Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century. In turn, as a member state of the EAEU and the SCO, Belarus practically facilitates the strengthening of Myanmar’s ties with these intergovernmental organizations.
