Foiled Chocolate Eggs
Purdys
$22

Article content

Beloved Vancouver chocolatier Purdys has elevated its hide-and-seek eggs by filling them with indulgent ingredients such as hazelnut gianduja, creamy peanut butter and gooey caramel. Since you won’t want to stop there, the dapper Barnaby chocolate bunnies are also a top basket filler, and they come in milk chocolate, dark chocolate and white chocolate for all levels of sweet teeth. Festive assorted chocolate boxes and creamy yolk and peanut butter eggs are also fine Easter picks from the brand founded by Richard Carmon Purdy way back in 1907.

Easter Artisan 15 Peace Box
Peace by Chocolate
$27

Article content

Colourful chicks, sweet bees and speckled eggs — Peace by Chocolate’s Easter Artisan box’s offerings are (almost) too cute to eat. Hollow bunnies and eggs are also up for grabs from the Antigonish, N.S., company that has a backstory so inspiring, they made a movie about it (2021’s Peace By Chocolate). The Hadhad family ran their business in Syria for 30 years, until a bombing destroyed their factory and forced them to flee to Lebanon. An invite to Canada led them to a fresh start and this next chapter in their chocolate-making adventure.

Betty Bunny
Rogers’ Chocolates
$6.49

Article content

Betty is about as classic as chocolate bunnies get. Adorably moulded and made of rich, solid milk chocolate (from sustainable cocoa), Betty stands alongside Huey Duck as an Easter fixture in Rogers’ Chocolates heritage storefront in Victoria, B.C. — which has the same tiles as it did when Charles (Candy) Rogers crafted his first confections there in the early 1900s. Other Easter musts from the store — which has eight locations in B.C. but ships countrywide — include egg-shaped creams, mini bars and assorted collections in springy boxes.

Karameller x BETA5 Polygon Egg
BETA5
$59

Another West Coast company, BETA5, has a unique take on the Easter egg, opting to fill its hand-painted geometric-shaped offering with an assortment of gummy candies curated by fellow Vancouverites at Karameller Candy Shop. Crafted with high quality 66 per cent Valrhona dark chocolate, the Polygon Egg is a rich option for the connoisseur set. A Chocolate Polygon Bunny and Peanut Butter Polygon Bar are also on the shapely Easter menu at the award-winning BETA5.

Chippy Milk Chocolate COW Chips Bunny
Anne of Green Gables Chocolates
$7.98

Article content

Potato chips inside a chocolate bunny? Anne of Green Gables Chocolates is over in Charlottetown, making Easter dreams come true. The brand’s most popular product, COW Chips — chocolate covered potato chips — has made its way into Chippy, a solid bunny infused with pieces of the famous chips once praised on air by Kelly Ripa on Live With Kelly and Mark. The sweet and salty combo is a bound to be a seasonal winner from the company inspired by its titular Canadian literary legend.
