Kristen Stewart sparked fan concern after she appeared to have an 'uncomfortable' interaction with a man on stage during her recent film festival appearance.

On Thursday, she attended the Biarritz Film Festival, where she served as the president of the jury for the event — which comes over a month after she flipped the bird at another film festival appearance.

In the video that has since gone viral, the actress, 36, was speaking onstage when she was approached from behind by a man and turned around to face him.

While attentively listening to him talk to her, she stepped back to take a seat on the platform behind her and crossed her legs.

Regarding her body language and facial expression, many fans came to her defense and claimed she was reacting to the man invading her personal space.

On the other hand, others observed that he appeared to be a translator and was only stepping closer to talk to her.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Stewart for comment.

Kristen Stewart recently made a public appearance at the Biarritz Film Festival in France and stirred up mixed fan reactions in response to a since-viral video

The fan-taken video was accompanied by the following tweet, translated from Spanish: 'Kristen Stewart's uncomfortable expression with this man's closeness.'

At the time of reporting, the post on X has garnered over 2.1 million views.

'There are people who don't understand what personal space is,' one X user tweeted in response to the clip of the actress.

Another person added: 'Discomfort shows up first on the face rather than in the words.'

In defense of the 'innocent' interaction, one social media user said that the man was 'translating' and noted that Stewart 'puts on a face of attention, not of discomfort.'

'She sits down to listen to him after he tells her something,' another person agreed.

'He is her translator,' one fan added. 'He only got close to her to speak into her ear. I suppose there was a lot of noise in the environment.'

'It wasn't the closeness,' another person added about Stewart's reaction in the clip.

Others defended the 'innocent' interaction and said he was her interpreter, who moved closer just to talk to her in a 'loud environment'

The video, which showed Stewart turning around in reaction to a man talking to her and then sitting down on the platform behind her, has since garnered over 2 million views

'He approaches and whispers something in her ear, and that's when she sits down to listen to him.'

The fan claimed: 'She already had a pissed-off look on her face.

'From what you can see, they weren't letting her speak into the microphone,' the X user observed and alleged. 'And you can tell in the first few seconds of the video that she wants to but can't.'

She attended the French film festival with her wife Dylan Meyer, whom she married in April 2025.

Their joint public appearance comes as Meyer, 38, is set to direct her first movie, The Wrong Girls, starring Stewart.

The Twilight alum previously described the flick as a 'stoner girl comedy' while teasing a movie she was writing with her partner in 2023.

In the film, Stewart stars alongside Alia Shawkat as the duo play a pair of pot-loving best friends who find themselves in a case of mistaken identity.

Previously, Stewart opened up about how traveling to England and France can make her feel emotional.

The actress previously told the Daily Telegraph she feels 'haunted' by Princess Diana, and the mere thought of the late royal leaves her in tears 'at any moment.'

The actress had portrayed the late Princess of Wales, who died in a car accident in Paris in 1997 at the age 36, in 2021 psychological drama film Spencer.

Stewart said whenever she thinks about Diana she becomes emotional and that she cannot drive around London or Paris without thoughts of the late Princess invading her mind.

'I still am. I can't drive round this city, and Paris for that matter, without thinking about her. All the love that poured out of this woman… I can cry about her at any moment,' she said.

'She sits down to listen to him after he tells her something,' another person agreed

'It wasn't the closeness,' another person added about Stewart's reaction in the clip. 'He approaches and whispers something in her ear, and that's when she sits down to listen to him'

She also recalled feeling like Spencer director Pablo Larrain was 'insane' for casting her as the British royal, and he pleaded with the filmmaker to cast someone else — but he refused.

'There were some massive distinctions between her and me,' she said. 'It was the statuesque thing. It was the eye color — I have green eyes; she has very famously blue eyes that match her ring. So I was like, "Should we make the engagement ring green, then?"

'[They] were pulling me under and Pablo was like, "You really must detach from those things — this is about spirit."'

The director had also said he could see 'a little bit of overlap in terms of [their] experience'.
