Ronald Anthony “Ronnie” Hickey

Ronald Anthony “Ronnie” Hickey, 73, of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

Ronnie was born in Chickamauga, to the late Robert A. Hickey and Betty Babb Hickey. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tammie Hickey; his sister, Nancy Harp; his sister-in-law, Jaimie Pope; and his brother-in-law, Larry Harp.

A Christian by faith, Ronnie attended Mountain View Elementary and Chattanooga Valley Schools. He was employed with Walden Security for 28 years. Ronnie enjoyed fishing, visiting with friends, gathering with family, and relaxing with a good cigar.

One of the greatest and most blessed accomplishments of Ronnie’s life was helping his wife, Tammie, raise her sister, Jaimie Pope. Jaimie faced multiple health issues throughout her life, but together Ronnie and Tammie provided her with a blessed life filled with love, care, laughter, and many good times. Their devotion to Jaimie was a true reflection of the love and kindness they shared.

Ronnie is survived by his sister, Carla Hageman and her husband, Adrian; nephews, Russell Harp and his wife, Debbie, Chris Hageman and his wife, Lindsay, Michael Griffith and his wife, Patty, and Robert Eric Hageman; nieces, Candace Hamrick and her husband, Eddie, and Ellie Woody; grandnephews, Stephen Harp, Aiden Hageman, Zachary Hageman, Ian Hageman, AJ Bond, Alex Griffith, Ryan Griffith, and Stephen Gibson; grandnieces, Nisa Handy and Alycia Gibson; and his great-grandnephew, Briggston Meyer, his special “Little Buddy.” He also leaves behind his special friends, Paige, Mallory, Mr. Bloodworth, and Bill Scealf, along with many other friends and loved ones who will cherish his memory.

In lieu of flowers, and if you so desire, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Ronald Hickey to Hickory Valley Christian School or Hickory Valley Christian Church, 6605 Shallowford Road, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 2-6 p.m. Ronnie requested that everyone wear casual attire to the visitation.
